Which of the following expresses the primary difference between a reflection and a summary?

English
1 answer:

Answer:

The primary difference lays in the type of focus the student places on the topic.

A reflection paper is your chance to add your thoughts and analysis to what you have read and experienced. A reflection paper is meant to illustrate your understanding of the material and how it affects your ideas and possible practice in future. A reflection can also be serious thought or consideration.

A summary means you are telling the main idea of someone else's article, book, or other text. ... If you are writing a summary and response paper, you will need to say what the main idea is of the article you are summarizing and then your thesis would be your response to that article

Argument Organizer (In your own words)

Claim: Violent video games should be banned.

Reason 1:
Parents should ban violent video games in their homes because the violence has a negative influence on teenagers. Violent acts on games greatly increases the possibility of teenagers becoming violent themselves.

Support for Reason 1: Evidence
Neuroscientists conducted a research and found that teenagers who played violent games on a regular basis had lower rates of success at school compared to teenagers who did not play violent video games(Family First Magazine, n.d.).

Reason 2:
Research also show that teenagers who play violent video games tend to be more aggressive and use physical violence during disagreements.

Support for Reason 2:

As a result, they can hurt someone seriously and are more likely to get into trouble with the law. Society should ban the sale of violent video games to protect the vulnerable minds of teenagers(Adolescent Health Sociology Journal,n.d.).

Counterclaim+rebuttal support:
Pychologists also did a study on teenagers asking if they felt violent video games should be ban and most of them stated that they were aware of the dangers but should still have the freedom of choice in their games. They also stated friends who played games involving violence were more prone to having fights and confrontations with adults at home, school and work (Study by Anderson, Gentile and Buckley, 2007).

Conclusion Clincher:
Teens love gaming but they have to educated on the dangers of violent video games. Refraining from playing these games excessively ensures their young minds will not become polluted by the violent scenes and cause harm to their loved ones and friends.
