The country known as the island of pearls is Bahrain. It is a small island in the Arabian Gulf. Bahrain is one of the smallest nation of Arabian Gulf and Arabian Gulf especially Persian Gulf is rich with the animal that produces pearls. Bahrain's small size and central location among Persian Gulf countries require it to play a delicate balancing act in foreign affairs among its larger neighbors.
An all-American Expeditionary Force which was organized in WWI was perhaps considered as less challenging to fight than say a British force at least when they initially went into battle until they gained experience as they did not appear to have as much fighting experience as say the British or French who I believe entered the war earlier.
