The "Treaty of Versailles" was the treaty that officially ended World War 1. The treaty was officially signed on June 28th, 1919 in the Hall of Mirrors in France. The terms were as follows:

  1. Germany has to accept blame for starting the war.
  2. Germany has to pay £6,600 million in reparations
  3. Germany was forbidden to have submarines or an air force.   She could have a navy of only six battleships, and an Army of just 100,000 men.   In addition, Germany was not allowed to place any troops in the Rhineland, the strip of land, 50 miles wide, next to France.
  4. Germany loses territory (their colonies were given to Britain and France)
