B. The character have the biggest impact because their actions can change the course of where the story is going such as in my example, you have a boy who is running for school president. The boy then gets into a fight and is suspended, he can no longer run for president at his school as a punishment for getting into the fight. His action of fighting changed the story's course.

For what purpose does the author mention in names of various Grimm works in the excerpt select
GaryK [48]

Hello. The question above is incomplete. The full question is:

Read the excerpt from "How the Grimm Brothers Saved the Fairy Tale."

Though it is impossible to clarify why certain tales were deleted or placed in footnotes in later editions, we do know that "Death and the Goose Boy" was omitted because of its close resemblance to "Godfather Death"; "The Stepmother,” because of its fragmentary nature and cruelty; and "The Faithful Animals,” because it came from the Siddhi-Kür, a collection of Mongolian tales.

From the first edition in 1812/1815 to the final one in 1857, the Grimms received numerous versions of tales already in their collection and new tales from strangers, friends, and colleagues, and they often decided to replace one tale with another version, to delete some of the tales, or to include variants in their footnotes.

For what purpose does the author mentioned the names of various Grimm works in this excerpt? Select three answers.

The author mentions the Grimm's tales to identify some that were omitted or placed in footnotes.

The author mentions which of the Grimm's tales are not suitable for children.

The author identifies the new tales the Grimms received from their colleagues, friends, and strangers.

Answer:

All options are correct.

Explanation:

The article exposes how fairy tales emerged and how they have evolved over the years. Two of the great authors of fairy tales were the brothers Grimm and the author of the article makes several quotations about their works showing the names of many. The author's purpose in citing the names of these works is to show that many of these works have been omitted and placed in footnotes in the most different books on fairy tales, in addition, the citation of these names serves to reveal deaths that were common in these stories. The author also cites these works to show explanations of the content of the stories to serve as a reason for the omission.

Explicit information clearly states the whole information and leaves nothing to be questioned. Here, General Burgoyne giving the message to the courier that ended up to Americans shows the explicit information. Thus, option D is correct.

What is explicit information?

Explicit information is the sentences that include details that are clear and cannot be debated by others as they are expressed with clear and exact intentions.

Here, in the passage, it is clear that General Burgoyne gave the message to the courier person but that ended up getting delivered to the Americans.

From the passage, it can be said that there were many enemies of the British who passed their messages and information to Americans. Peekskill was a courier man for Burgoyne but he ended up giving the message to Americans.

Thus, option D the message delivered by the courier to Americans shows explicit information.
