Answer: 34,623.23

Since we are rounding to the nearest hundredth we are going to look at the number 2 in the hundreth place. 34,623.226

As you can see the bold 2 is in the hundreth place. We underline it and put an arrow pointing at 6.

Any number that are 5 and up you add 1. Also known as round up.

Any number that are 4 and below you add 0. Also known as round down.

Let's take a look at the 6. We can tell that 6 is greater than 5.

6 > 5

Since 6 is greater than 5 we add 1 to the hundreth place. 2 becomes a 3. Any numbers behind 3 is 0 so you'll get 34,623.23 0. Since the 0 is last in the thousandth place we just remove it. So your answer will be 34,623.23.

If Alfie tosses the paper cup more times, what is the expected number of times that the cup will land on its side?
IRINA_888 [86]

Question:

Alfie tossed a paper cup in the air 150 times and recorded the side it landed on.

     Right side up = 60         Upside down = 53             Side = 37

If Alfie tosses the paper cup 100 more times what is the expected number of times the cup will land on its side?

Answer:

The expected number of times the cup will land on its side is 25 times

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Right = 60

Upside\ down = 53

Side = 37

Required

First, we calculate the probability of landing on side

P(Side) = \frac{n(Side)}{Total}

P(Side) = \frac{37}{150}

P(Side) = 0.247

Next, we calculate the expected value; E(x) using:

E(x) = n * P(x)

When tossed 100  more times:

n = 100 and P(x) = P(Side) = 0.247

So:

E(x) = 100 * 0.247

E(x) = 24.7

E(x) = 25 --- approximated

Hence, it is expected that it will land on its side 25 times

(fg)-1(5)=g-1f-1(5)
larisa86 [58]

Answer:

f = g/ g+1

Step-by-step explanation:

Remove Parenthesis.

fg - 1  x 5  = g  - 1  x f  - 1 x 5

Cancel -1 x 5 on both sides.

fg =  g - 1  x f

Simplify 1 x f  to f.

fg =  g - f

Add f to both sides.

fg + f = g

Factor out the common term f.

f (g + 1)  = g

Divide both sides by g + 1

f =  g/ g + 1
