Why was the congressional reconstruction unsuccessful and successful?
Firlakuza [10]
The southern(who were previously Confederate) states all wrote new Constitutions and swore loyalty to the Union by 1877. Also, the 13th amendment(which states no slavery nor involuntary servitude is allowed unless punishment... in u.s.), 14th amendment(forbids states to restrict simple rights of citizens etc,), and 15th amendment(citizens in U.S. cannot be denied due to race, color, etc. to vote) were acknowledged and remained after the reconstruction. Former slaves also had a new life ahead of them: they could now be educated, choose who they wanted to marry, and choose jobs. Unfortunately, the reconstruction didn't heal African American/ white man wounds; and even though there were laws for equality, for many upcoming years, many black people still had many problems with white people who still believed they were somehow superior.

Brazil is one of the biggest economies in the world. They possess a wide variety of natural resources and many private corporations are important participants on the global scene. Brazil's GDP per capita in 2016 was $ 15,100. In other words, that is the amount of money the average Brazilian would earn in a year.

However, there is a weak correlation with the distribution of wealth, as one can see in their social progress index (SPI), which was 73.91 (the higher one gets to 100 is better) in 2016. This means that there is a greater accumulation of wealth within the minorities and the majority of Brazilian's don't actually earn the amount stated in the GDP per capita.

One can rapidly notice this, as Brazil has faced the social problem of "the fabellas" for many years. The fabellas are communities of people who live in the surroundings of big cities. They are characterized for being places where poor people live and widespread crime occurs.

Alexander III of Macedon, or as more commonly referred to, Alexander the Great, was a leader that had its nice and bad characteristics.

Good characteristics can be:

- Great leader;

He hold tightly the Macedonians and Paionians, gave them a strong identity, and made them feel as the greatest people in the world.

- Excellent military tactician;

Managed to overcome much larger armies multiple types on totally unfamiliar terrain. Also, he never allowed a Greek to be a general in his army, which was probably his wisest move, as the Greeks hated the Macedonians.

- Making steps into the globalization process;

He wanted and tried to merge people from different cultures, religions, ethnicity, races, into one, and to work together and tolerate each other.

Bad characteristics can be:

- Alienation;

He was very often alienated, as he was putting himself in the realm of half god, half human.

- Holding to his own desires without taking in consideration what's best for the others;

His army was suffering by the end of his campaign, was exhausted, and wanted to return to Macedonia to their families, but he just didn't cared about it.

- Making a genocide;

The Macedonians and the Greeks hated each other for centuries, and the Greeks could not stand the fact that they are occupied by their hated neighbors, so they were rebelling constantly, and also escaped from the battle-scene at Gaugamela, and that made Alexander very angry, so he set his armies on the Greek city-states and killed over 20,000 of them.
