The Serbs drove out the women and butchered the men, according to numerous eyewitness accounts, burying most of the bodies in ma

ss graves. Officially, as many as 8,000 men from Srebrenica are still listed as missing. Zina Hasanovic is one of the few women to know exactly what happened to her husband. . . . As Serb bullets swept the tightly packed ranks of Muslim prisoners, Haris [her husband] fell on top of Mevludin Oric, his first cousin and best friend. Mevludin lay there for hours, covered by bodies and blood, while the Serbs finished off the wounded. Then he escaped to tell Zina what had happened. How did Mevludin escape execution? He escaped before the Serbs arrived. He was saved by a friendly Serb. He was hidden by Zina Hasanovic. He pretended to be dead.

He pretended to be dead.

Explanation:

  • Mevludin Oric survived the Srebrenica genocide by pretending to be dead.
  • After escaping death by pretending to be already dead, he escaped through the mountains into Bosnian government-controlled territory overnight.
  • His father, brother and numerous relatives were killed in the genocide.
  • Oric, a man who survived the horrific genocide in Srebrenica, says that when he goes to eastern Bosnia, he still sees Serbs who participated in the executions of his countrymen, relatives and friends in Srebrenica.

Naddik [55]
Of course this is a very broad statement, but in general it is true that many Englishmen became so disillusioned with the French Revolution that they eventually rejected all the goals and ideals it presented, since it turned out to be extremely violent and despotic.

Do you think it was right for the United States to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Why or why not?
klemol [59]

Answer:

There are pros and cons to this question

Explanation:You can look at it in many different ways. Japan was not planning on surrendering any time soon. They believe that dying in combat is one of the most repectible deaths ever. If we did not bomb them, They would not have surrendered which would have lead to many more american deaths. Earlier in the war they bombed our naval base pearl harbor, so they started it. Thats the argument for bombing them.

The argument agains bombing them is that hiroshima and Nagasaki were huge cities. There were thousands of people in thise cities, Civilians. Japan did bomb us but they bombed a Naval base. So we punished the civilians of Japan and we Also punished the kids of those civilians because those bombs had radiation in them which affected the people that werent killed by the blast but were in the area that the radiation was at. The radiation affected those poeples unborn children, gave them birth defects and some of them died because of it.

So was it right? I think that the decision to bomb them was not an easy one. I think it took a lot of time to come to this decision. But overall it did end this war which most likely save a lot of american lives.
