This theory was developed by George Gerbner. He affirmed that if children exposed to TV programs they can be affected by its content. Children can believe that what they see on TV is true, and express similar conduct and behaviors of the TV characters. Imari could also be influenced by the statements of the Anderson and Meyer Theory: the Social Action Theory that says that audiences interpret the content and assimilate it for what they perceive it to be real.

Explanation:

Screen time and exposure of early adolescents to media has impact on their cognitive health. It makes a person to get addicted to certain programs as the media screen has an alluring and bright color that appeals to the senses of early adolescents. Not only it affects the health but also the sleep patterns and circadic rhythm of the adolescent is also impacted.  

They subconsciously imbibe the character of the familiar personality in the social media and try to imitate their features in real life which proves to be sometimes hazardous.
