Okay. So, I just worked out this problem with trial and error. I also think that my answer is correct. There are 12 sides in the polygon, and if it is a regular figure, it is 360*/12. So, you have (7<em>x</em> + 3)*. You know that 7<em>x</em>5=35, so 7<em>x</em>50=350. 350+3=353. That isn't at 360 yet. So if you multiply 51<em>x</em>7, you get 357, and 357+3=360. Your answer is <em>x</em>=51.

Find the cosine of ∠W.
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:  8/17

Explanation:

We'll need the pythagorean theorem to find the missing side length.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2\\\\15^2 + b^2 = 17^2\\\\225 + b^2 = 289\\\\b^2 = 289 - 225\\\\b^2 = 64\\\\b = \sqrt{64}\\\\b = 8

Now we can compute the cosine ratio.

cos(angle) = adjacent/hypotenuse

cos(W) = VW/UW

cos(W) = 8/17
