How did farmers contribute to the problems that led to the Dust Bowl?

History

Strike441 [17]3 years ago
5 0

Farmers used to prepare the soil to be seeded and for that, they plowed the soil too fine. It worked fine for years, but there was a period of drought and then the dry and light grains of soil were picked up by the wind and caused the Dust Bowl. Because of that, Congress passed the Soil Conservation Act that called for changed in plowing techniques, so this would not happen again.

In which of the following countries has the use of genetically modified organisms had the LEAST effect? (3 points)
Nataly_w [17]

The correct answer is - Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is a country where the agriculture is still on a primitive level, with the subsistence agricultural type being the dominant one. The introduction of the genetically modified organisms hasn't really occurred in this country, even though it is a country that can have a great benefit from it if we take into consideration its terrible food supply.

Unlike the rest of the world the tries to increase the productivity so that there's more food, and also cheaper food for the growing population and its growing appetite, Zimbabwe is still firmly holding on to its traditional ways.
