Explain how sound waves are processed in the ear and then relayed to and processed in the brain.
Vikentia [17]
The process of hearing starts by pressure/sound waves that are captured by our ears and taken inside the ear by the ear canal reaching firstly the eardrum. The eardrum then vibrates according to the pressure waves that were captured making the acicular (a set of 3 little bones) enter into motion. These vibrations then move from the acicular to the inner ear. Within the inner ear, we can find the cochlea which is where these mechanical waves are converted into electrical signals and then passed to the brain. The auditory cortex of the brain then interprets this signals as sounds and gives them meaning.

describe how the nervous system uses cell communication in order to help organisms maintain homeostasis
Ugo [173]

Answer:

The nervous system uses cell-communication by electrochemical signals that  hormones, neurotransmitters or cytokines

Explanation:

Cell communication is vital to maintain internal environment thanks to homeostasis process which regulates the responses to internal and external stimulus. The functioning of cells depends on the electrochemical signals, these allows the communication and coordination among a group of cells of the tissue.

There are different type of loop-responses:

Negative Feedback Loops;

Reaction that causes a decrease in function, in response to some stimulus. The maintenance blood pressure, blood pH, oxygen/carbon dioxide balance, water balance (osmoregulation),calcium levels, among others are examples of negative feedback loops.

Positive Feedback Loops

Are involved in the amplification of the stimulus. D

A star is observed from two positions of Earth in its orbit, in summer and winter. Which of these is the best method to calculat
Bezzdna [24]

Answer:

The answer is "measure the parallax and use it in calculations".

Explanation:

In this question, the above choice is correct because, in the summer and winter, light is observed from both parts of a planet. An astronomer can once, again and 6 weeks later calculate the position of a star and then compute the perceived shift of location. It measures which utilizes parallax and its best method for calculating the approximate distance between the star, as well as the planet.

Explain how cognitive neuroscience attempts to describe consciousness and dual processing. Then, cite two experiences in which y
Alenkinab [10]

Answer:

Since 1960, under the influence of cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and cognitive neuroscience, our awareness of ourselves and our environment—our consciousness—has reclaimed its place as an important area of research. After initially claiming consciousness as its area of study in the nineteenth century, psychologists had abandoned it in the first half of the twentieth century, turning instead to the study of observable behavior because they believed consciousness was too difficult to study scientifically. A few examples of when someones body goes in auto pilot could be of the following; negative thoughts about yourself that keep popping up, undesirable habits such as nail biting, sitting on social media too often, and always experiencing certain negative feelings.
