There are so many things you need to have in order when you get your license. For one your driver's education, your mental preparedness, and your physical preparedness.
A driver's education is the first step to obtaining your license. But before that, there are many steps you must take along the way. The very first step that a person should take in getting their license is completing the learner phase, then the intermediate more kind of middle stage, and then finally getting that license. The phases before the final phase may seem daunting and pointless but they are there fr a reason and you just have to have the patience to complete them.
Driving and mental preparedness go hand in hand. One example of this is road rage. You have to especially be able to control yourself when on the road. You can't careless and you have to follow the rules. If somebody makes you that angry honk your horn at them, build a bridge, and get over it. I can see how this might be challenging however for those with anger management issues. Which in that case should be referred to some sort of docter or a therapist.
Lastly is being physically prepared. No not like in shape, although that is helpful. Being physically prepared by always have a spare inflated tire or a gallon of gas. Even a pair of jumper cables can come in handy sometimes.It might be difficult to remember to have these things and more on hand but an easy way to solve that is by having a checklist on hand of everything you need.
In summary, while there are many steps that need to be taken in order to obtain your license and become a good driver on the road it is not impossible to achieve them all. You just might need a few adjustments that work for you.

Douglass didn't really have that much grief with his mother's death because it states he had the same emotion he would have with a stranger. A stranger to Douglass wouldn't mean that much and he wouldn't have grief. He wasn't that upset about his mother's death.
At the end of the book, Tom and Becky are trapped in the cave. When they are rescued from the cave and find the treasue, and return home, that is the resolution of the story because the biggest confict is resolved.
