A composer is a type of musician who authors music. This can include any genre and any type of music. Most composers write by using musical notation in a written musical score. Composers create their works for many different reasons. Some composers are also musicians and they write their music for themselves to play. Others write for other people, such as their students or professional musicians who commissioned them.
