He decided to speak out against the "British rule" because he preferred to supprts the rights in India.

2. Gandhi had the most moving violations of anyone in India. Because of this he told the judge he should be fined $1,000. or he should say that everyone should drive on the right side of the road.

3. He says people are dying because they want to drive on the right side of the road but the british insist on driving on the left. There were many head on collisions.

Why does Gandhi decide to write/speak out against British rule?

Mahatma Gandhi was already an activist for various social causes, but when the British imposed the salt tax Gandhi started his revolution. The Salt Tax was a tax imposed by Britain to destroy India’s long-established tradition of salt-making. Salt was very important to the Indian society and because of that, Gandhi led protests with the Salt March which contributed to the Indian Independence movement.

Gandhi asks the judge to give him the highest penalty. Why do you think he asks for this? Pay close attention to what Gandhi tells the judge he should do

Gandhi states that his religion defends non-violence and non-violence implies voluntary submission to the penalty that is imposed. So he asks the judge to submit the highest penalty that can be inflicted upon him because it is his duty of a citizen. Also, he asks the judge to give him the highest penalty if he really believes that the law that is imposed on him is the best for the people of India.

How does Gandhi describe life for the Indian people?

Gandhi describes that Indian’s lives are very bad, they are semi-starved masses sinking into lifelessness. He describes that they are miserable people with little rights, they need to work for the country that exploits them because they have no money and need to survive. He also says that Britain exploits India and sucks away all profits from people. Men were being convicted with no evidence.

How did the industrial revolution affect the lives of the working class?
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer: industrial revolution not only affected working class, it created working class. It was the main consequence, because before there was only labour working on the fields. The second consequence was that industrial revolution caused process or urbanization (people moving from country to towns and cities) and the third one was that the social conflict became more visible.

Explanation: European society was mainly rural society before the industrial revolution. Majority of people lived in the countryside and in certain harmony with the nature. Industrial revolution cut off people from the nature and natural life-style. Sometimes it is referred as "alienation". Result of that were masses of "alienated" people suppressing their natural drives and life-style of their ancestors. These people frequently lived in inhuman conditions in towns, were explored and this was something that contradicted to the ideals of Enlightenment and the French revolution. Working class became aware of this social problem in 1848 but at the same time there was a nationalism ...another strong tendency among masses of people. So people became increasingly aware both their social status (and conflict, and alienation) and their nationality.

Which of the following might be considered a valid source for online research? Select all that apply.
sergejj [24]
Well, here is a hint. Anything ending in (.com) is not usually trustworthy, because they are usually trying to sell something, or are just not accurate. (.gov) is trust worthy I guess, but they are telling you what you want to hear. (WIKI IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL) (.edu) would be the best, or (.org)

What was Grant's main strategy during his Overland Campaign, to help work toward the defeat of the Confederacy?
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

He wanted to keep the Army of Northern Virginia from invading the North again

Explanation:

The Rebel commander's grand objective was to hold the line of the Rapidan, and he failed; Grant's goal was to negate Lee's army as an effective fighting force, and in that he largely succeeded. By the end of the campaign, Grant had pinned Lee into defensive earthworks around Richmond and Petersburg.

The Union strategy to win the war did not emerge all at once. By 1863, however, the Northern military plan consisted of five major goals: Fully blockade all Southern coasts. This strategy, known as the Anaconda Plan, would eliminate the possibility of Confederate help from abroad.

The Anaconda Plan is the name applied to an outline strategy for suppressing the Confederacy at the beginning of the American Civil War. Proposed by General-in-Chief Winfield Scott, the plan emphasized a Union blockade of the Southern ports, and called for an advance down the Mississippi River to cut the South in two.
