The United States of America generally known as the USA is a country which is comprised of 50 states, a federal region, five principal self-governing townships, and various settlements. Martin Waldseemüller, a German cartographer designed a world map in the year 1507 on which he represented the countries of the Western Hemisphere as America. The name he gave to pay honour to Amerigo Vespucci, an explorer and cartographer from Italy.
Items such as knives, tobacco and blankets were traded for
guns, gunpowder and other items. In
short, what items were useful for survival were the items people often traded
with. They had to have purpose in the
frontier for the items to be of value.
