Option 4: The Fourteenth Amendment later became the basis for equal rights claims.

The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (1868) gives citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States, including black people, and guarantees all citizens the right of a due process of law and equal protection of the laws, among others.

This amendment later became the basis for equal rights claims, especially in many cases argued in the Supreme Court, two examples of this was the Brown v. Board of Education case (1954), in which the Supreme Court overturned the “separate but equal” since segregated public schools violated the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment and the Loving v. Virginia case (1967) that struck down state laws banning interracial marriage in the United States, basing on the amendment.

Why were taxes a conflict for the american colonist?
podryga [215]
The American Revolution was precipitated, in part, by a series of laws passed between 1763 and 1775 that regulating trade and taxes. This legislation caused tensions between colonists and imperial officials, who made it clear that the British Parliament would not address American complaints that the new laws were onerous. British unwillingness to respond to American demands for change allowed colonists to argue that they were part of an increasingly corrupt and autocratic empire in which their traditional liberties were threatened. This position eventually served as the basis for the colonial Declaration of Independence.

Fittoniya [83]
The correct answer is b. the Nile flooded at the same time every year as opposed to the unpredictable flooding of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The predictability of the flooding allowed agriculture to become a mainstay in Egyptian cultures that made their homes along the banks of the Nile river. The predictable floods brought fertile soils which signaled the start of the growing season each year.
