Read the passage. At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of life. The c

hoice is too often not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, guarantees of individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal freedoms. I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures. I believe that we must assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way. – Harry S. Truman (1947) Which describes the position that President Truman believed the United States should take when dealing with the spread of totalitarian regimes?
The US policy should be determined based on economic incentives rather than geopolitical ideologies.
The United States should aid the will of the majority in overcoming foreign influence.
The United States needs to send nuclear weapons to democratic countries as a veiled threat.
The duty of the United States is to remain neutral in the face of growing foreign pressure.

Answer:

The United States should aid the will of the majority in overcoming foreign influence.

Explanation:

As Harry S. Truman stated, one of United States's major responsibilities is to support those free individuals who are looking forward to living their lives in freedom and search for individual progress. In this way, preventing such influence of totalitarianism, whether local or foreign, is considered crucial.

Columbus explored all of the following except: South America North America Caribbean Islands Central America
timofeeve [1]
Although it's a bit counter-intuitive, Columbia actually never explored North America, instead visiting the other locations on this list instead. This lead to great discoveries but lots of suffering for the local inhabitants.

Justice Bradley of the U.S. Supreme Court wrote this comment. It appears in the case summary for Bradwell v. Illinois, 1872.
Katena32 [7]
I don’t think so. He implies women are only to be wives and mothers, which also implies the old statuses of men working, voting, owning property and women not being allowed to do so. This is not just the Justice’s personal opinion to keep to himself, and he says civil society must be based on the “law of the creator.” Personally, I think his perspective is rubbish
