Answer:

A. True

Explanation:

A simile is a figure of speech used to compare two things using "like" or "as".

The line “Their wives run around like banshees” is from a poem "Alone" by Maya Angelou.

It is a simile comparing the wives of the millionaires described in the poem to banshees.

Banshees are mythical Irish spirits who scream loudly and are seen when someone is going to die.

This simile was employed to show that the wives are unwanted and not very nice to be with.

The primary AUDIENCE for boyd's evaluation is teachers, though parents
bija089 [108]

Boyd's assessment is effective for the public because of the textual evidence. That would change if she defended the interference of parents and students who do not know the educational system.

Why does Boyd advocate teacher-led educational assessment?

 • It shows that the teachers have a vast knowledge of the subject.
 • It shows that teachers are qualified professionals.
 • It shows that the work of teachers is created within efficient educational foundations.

In this case, Boyd stresses that teachers should be responsible for evaluating students because they are professionals who are qualified and trained to do so, unlike parents and students.

In that case, the educational system would be aggrandized.

Write a minimum 150-word response in which you explain the poet's use of extended metaphor in "Cloud." Be sure to cite examples
Allisa [31]

The poem "The Cloud" by Percy Bysshe Shelley employs an extended metaphor, as it compares a cloud to life throughout the whole poem.

The cloud is meant to stand for the cycle of nature, or the unending cycle of life. Through the many cycles and transformations that the cloud endures, Shelley wants to represent the never ending cycle of birth, death and rebirth that all beings on Earth go through. The poem, therefore, focuses on the mutability of nature as the only constant in the physical world. Moreover, this allows the author to also employ the cloud as a symbol of the many changes that humans undergo throughout their lives.
