Which word is not derived from ludere?
sesenic [268]
Ludere means to trick. Collusion is secret, illusion is a trick, elude is to avoid escape. These are not options. A prelude is an introduction - almost like a taste to trick you into reading, hearing, seeing more. An ablution is a washing - not connected to a trick at all. Ablution is your answer.

Part A:

I believe your best answer A. "Big Year" birders compete for honor, love and record-setting.
1) honor and record-setting: As stated, 'most people who want to break such a record...'
2) love: "... most people who want to break such a record know the greatest rewards are not necessarily winning. Such rewards are in being able to commit a year of your life to <em>doing something you love.</em>" (emphasize added)

Part B:
F. Most birders <em>take pride </em>in their reputation and their abilities to see or hear and then identify a bird. (emphasizes added).

"Most birders take great pride in their reputations and their abilities to see or hear and then identify a bird. Usually, important sightings of the rare birds needed to get counts in the 700s are visited by hundreds of birders. It is pretty hard to cheat your way to a record-breaking year, but in general, few are interested in cheating."

H. Such rewards are in being able to commit a year of your life to doing something you love

"... the birds these contestants are counting are the number that they see in a particular year."

hope this helps

Describe a situation where propaganda might be dangerous? How can propaganda be used for good
Paha777 [63]

A situation where propaganda could be dangerous would be a political leader using propaganda in order to incite violence or dangerous ideas into people's minds. One example of this would be Hitler, as he used propaganda in order to incite violence and the killing of the jews.

Propaganda can be used for good, however, if it is used in order to inspire people to help out their country. An example of this would be WWII, as people used propaganda and posters in order to inspire people to help out the war effort and to help out the soldiers in the fight against Germany. This was beneficial as it gathered more support for soldiers fighting in the war and helped out in the long run.
