By 1932, one of the dreariest years of the Great Depression, as a minimum one-quarter of the American workforce was unemployed. But the federal government gave assistance by offering Floridians with monetary aid called relief.  When President Franklin Roosevelt took President in 1933, he acted quickly to attempt and steady the economy and offer construction jobs and release to those who were suffering.
