1. Writing has to be taught because it is an important skill to be acquired in the 21st century. There may be situation where someone maybe in danger,         in-order to pass his SOS (Save our Soul) message, he or she needs to write it in any place around.

2. Advantages of speech as a way of communication

a. The information is passed directly to the recipient without any possibility of being lost in transit as compared to when writing method was adopted.

b. It is the cheapest and easiest method of passing across a message to another person.

3. Disadvantages of writing as a medium of communication

a. It is difficult for the message to be passed across in a situation whereby the other party does not understand the language it was written in. For example a letter written in English but was meant for a Chinese person.

b. The message could be lost when it is in-transit to the person it is meant for.
