Based on some historical facts Dorothea Dix helped the imprisoned people and those who are mentally ill to have better prison conditions. She found out several inhumane activities were done inside the prison which she documented and presented to the legislature of Massachusetts. She hoped to have better facilities for imprisoned people especially for those who are suffering from mental illnesses.
