The Louisiana Purchase provided  America with a huge amount of land and resources without a war, making the United states appear bigger to other countries. America also gained control of more land for farming and natural resources.


The Louisiana purchase consisted of about 828 million square miles of territory from the Mississippi river to the rocky mountains.
