A really good example of how an advertisement can appeal to emotions are the SPCA commercials. (the super sad dog commercials.) they appeal to emotions by showing pictures and or videos of injured, starving, or abandoned dogs. This makes more and more people want to donate to the cause.
They will escape on a boat heading for Europe
There is only one sentence among these that contains a dependent clause, and that is the third option - Although the rain poured down, the Eagles and Panthers continued their soccer game.
The remaining sentences are all simple, meaning they contain only one independent clause (except for sentence 2, which is compound, meaning it has 2 independent clauses).

I would act cheerful and jovial, my cover could have easily blown if I
had gotten too scared of the white men. I would have tried my best not
to flinch because of an action that a white man made, and try to finish
the classroom. So I wouldn't have had the time to ponder a plan to make
the white men leave the classroom or make them do something so they
would leave. If that plan failed and if something happened,
which would have led to my lessons being exposed, I would act as if I am
timid, while deep down inside of me I would have had an outrageous
outburst.
