History

Answer:

The correct answer is D) They felt strongly that the bill would ruin the Pueblos.

Explanation:

The Bursum Bill was designed to give courts the right to settle land disputes between the native Americans and white settlers. It also gave the the right for any non-native over land they had unlawfully occupied before the year 1902.

As the courts were controlled by White, it was clear that the bill would be very unfair and only make life more difficult for Native Americans. Hence, friends of Collier, made sure to publicize the bill as much as they can, eventually making it a failure.

Collier's friends stimulate publicity about the Bursum Bill because:

They believed the bill was fair and equitable

Further Explanation

The Bursum Bill, drafted by senators, allows Indians to defend whatever land they have occupied before 1902. Furthermore, the state court has the right to settle land disputes in the future. Because state courts are in the hands of white people who generally oppose Indian rights, immoral non-Indians will immediately bring valuable land to the dispute.

In 1923 precisely in May, community leaders joined reformer Jhon Collier and established an Indian Indian Defense association in response to the injustices perpetrated in Pueblo New Mexico by Bursum Bill and Order Dance. In 1921, senator Holm O. Bursum of New Mexico introduced a law whose effect would divest Pueblo of large tracts of land for squatters. In 1922, the Home secretary strongly supported Bill Bursum. In 1923, the fate of Pueblos in New Mexico aroused widespread public sympathy which emerged as a symbol of the injustice imposed on American Indians. The Pueblo family has maintained strong internal cohesion as an independent government for hundreds of years. The American Indian Defense Association became a powerful new lobby and successfully challenged the government seizure of Indian communal land and restricted freedom of diversity, and the Bursum Bill was defeated and the Order of Dance was withdrawn.

I choose and agree with Cleisthenes. He believed in democracy unlike Aristotle. He believed that the government should ran fairly and that aristocratic families should not have so much power over the majority, and wanted to prevent another era of tyranny at all cost, thus the reason he is name the “Father of Democracy “.

Before the Cleisthenes the Athens government was dominated by tyranny, he reformed their constitution and added public participation.

You can use this as a rough draft or something, or take some ideas you find useful. You’re welcome.
