What is the Claim. Evidence Reasoning
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

The claim of the paragraph seems to be how the US government can help close the gender gap in the Senate and what the gap is caused by and what will come of getting rid of that gap.

Some evidence is the first sentence, which it says "the US government would help  close the gender gap in the Senate". Also, it has statistical evidence, such as "only 21% of US Senate seats were occupied by  women in 2017." that tell more of the gender gap, along with "A study conducted by Political Parity, a nonpartisan  organization, shows that the biggest barriers blocking women from  running for Senate are fundraising needs and the parties' perceived  preference for male candidates.". And then, to tell what will become of America be removing that gap, it says "requiring political parties to

support female candidates for the Senate would help create a

government that more fairly represents American women.".

Explanation:

I was never the best at identifying claims, but I did my best. Hope this helps.

Add and reduce to lowest terms: 2 + 9/20
KengaRu [80]
The answer is 2 9/20. Why? Well, 2 + 9/20 means that you just add two whole to 9/20. You would then have the mixed number 2 9/20. Now that you have the mixed number 2 9/20, you can turn it into an improper fraction.

How to turn 2 9/20 into an improper fraction:

Because 20 is your denominator in this fraction and there is two whole, you can multiply 20 by two to get 40 as your new numerator. Because this fraction also was not 3 whole, you could add the remaining 9 to the numerator to get your final new numerator, which is 49. Because 20 was the original denominator, you can keep it as your total to deem the fraction improper. Therefore, your mixed number as an improper fraction would be 49/20.

49/20 is not an option for the answer choices we have, so what we do here is turn it into a mixed number. That concludes to 2 9/20.

Your final answer: 2 9/20. Your answer is #2. If you need to better understand this, let me know and I will gladly assist you.
