The most straightforward answer is D - using an individual's genetic information to decide who can be covered for health insurance.

This is unethical because people have no say over which genes they were born with. Furthermore, applying this logic would mean that we are proponents of genetic determinism. While genes have an impact, a person can still choose to apply different protocols in his life that help him combat his chances for certain diseases.

It could be also considered unethical if people themselves would be provided guidance based on the genetic information collected, without any proper medical consultation beforehand.

With regard to the functioning of the thyroid gland, which is an essential element for the manufacturing of thyroxine and triiod

Explanation:

Thyroid glands is an important endocrine gland of the body which release hormone called thyroid hormone in the blood. It plays an important role in metabolism, brain development, and function, muscle control, etc.

The active form of thyroxine is triiodothyronine and the formation of thyroid hormone requires the availability of iodine. Four iodine atoms are present in thyroxine and 3 is present in triiodothyronine. Without iodine, they can not be produced.

Therefore iodine is the essential element that is required for the manufacturing of thyroxine and triiodothyronine.

Monocots and dicots are two groups of _____.
Step2247 [10]
I believe the correct answer is the second option. Monocots and dicots are two groups of angiosperms. This group of plants are seed bearing plants. Flowers are their reproductive system where the ovules are being enclosed in the ovary. Angiosperms can be found in every habitat from grasslands and forests to deserts and sea margins. Angiospersms are divided to monocots and dicots. Monocot plants are characterized by having one cotyledon while dicots have two. Also, leaf veins of monocots are branched while that of dicots are parallel. The root system of monocots is a fibrous root system while dicots have a taproot system.

How could the nervous system cause a skeletal muscle to produce the most forceful contraction it is capable of?
defon

By triggering action potentials from every single motor neuron that regulates the muscle at a rate that causes tetanus in every fiber.

What are motor neurons, and what are they used for?

The central nervous system includes motor neurons, which are cells that transmit instructions from the nerves and muscles that control our movements, speech, swallowing, and breathing.

What makes it a motor neuron?

Motor neurons (also referred to as efferent neurons) are indeed the nerve cells responsible for carrying signals part of the peripheral nervous system towards muscles to cause movement. Neurotransmitters are released by them to set off reactions that cause muscle movement..

In the body, how many motor neurons are there?

There are around 500,000 of them, carrying information first from CNS to peripheral effectors throughout the peripheral tissues but instead organ systems. Motor neuron axons, or efferent fibers, convey information away from the central nervous system..
