The validity of the hypotheses are checked by the experiments. This is the most significant step of the scientific method. Through experimentation, a response to the problem is proposed. An example could be the following:

-Hypothesis: the leaves that trees have are green because they have chlorophyll.

-Experiment: place the colored leaves in a jar with alcohol, and then heat to a boil.

-Results: after boiling, the alcohol turns green. This shows that tree leaves have a green pigment known as chlorophyll.

-Conclusions: the hypothesis is valid, since the leaves of the trees are green because they have chlorophyll and it was demonstrated with the experiment.
