Why does Beowulf believe he can conquer grendel
polet [3.4K]

Beowulf says that he will fight Grendel with his hands because Grendel has no weapon himself. They have no weapon to slay the beast anyway. 9) Consider the description of Grendel's marsh, the lake, and Herot.

Beowulf goes to fight Grendel to help the people of Herot, but more importantly to gain glory for himself. He intends to fight the beast with his bare hands, and he does, and wins by doing so.

Macbeth and banquos reaction after the witches prophecies
steposvetlana [31]
Differently, one already has black and deep desires, while the other is interested, but, secure in his own conscience. Banquo's was wiser and much more careful. Macbeth, drove himself into the darkness, and madness entirely, the longer he was in fear and suffering he relies on the prophecies which turned  out to be true.

Hope that helps!!!!

How do the words describing nature in lines 12-14 contribute to the tone of the passage?
madam [21]

Answer: Lines 12-14 contribute to the tone of joy and happiness.

Explanation:

In "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud", William Wordsworth recalls his experience of seeing a field of daffodils on a beautiful day.

In lines 12–14, the poet describes how the flowers swayed to the breeze while "tossing their heads." He claims that the sea beside them also "danced", but that daffodils were more delightful.

These lines contribute to the overall tone of the poem - that of happiness and joy. The image in front of him inspired the poet, and stimulated his imagination.
