Explain why the Revolutionary war was both a war between the Americans and the British and a civil war

History

Answer:

The Americans identified as "Americans", and the population also contained people who were not from Britain originally (neither is their family line). However, it is a civil war, as the governmental system was created by British subjects, and they were a royal colony. The British government technically ruled over the American colonies, but only started to use their power after the American Indian War to raise funds to pay for their debts. It is just a matter of identities and the historical truth.

Explain the Dred Scott lawsuit and how he felt his rights had been violated.
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
The Dred Scott decision, or lawsuit as you put it, was a case where it was stated by the court that people of African descent could not be American citizens and had no standing in court. They, whether free or not, had no power to regulate slavery in the United States. His rights have been violated for many reasons. He was accused of standing in court for just being black. It was very unconstitutional and found by many historians as one of the worst Supreme Court decisions ever made.
