A period of falliThe onset of the Great Depression: A. was in 1918 at the end of World War I. B. created a disagreement between
Alborosie

Answer:

The correct answer is D. The onset of the Great Depression came as a considerable shock to the conventional wisdom of economics at that time and opened the door for critiques of mainstream thought by economists like John Maynard Keynes.

Explanation:

The Great Depression was a recession that followed the Stock Market Crash on October 29, 1929. From the United States, it spread rapidly to Europe and other parts of the world, with devastating effects. International trade fell sharply, as did personal income, tax revenue, prices and profits. This affected cities all over the world, not least those who relied on heavy industry. Construction stopped in several countries, farms and other agricultural areas as the price of their harvests fell by between 40 and 60 percent, and the demand for miners and forestry workers fell sharply while there were few other employment options. The Great Depression ended at different times in different countries; the majority of countries affected set up different aid programs to cope with the crisis.

The Great Depression was not a sudden collapse; the decline came progressively for a period of three years and reached its absolute bottom in March 1933. In early 1930, the credit was large and was available for low prices, but was exploited by few because many households could not take on more debt. Car sales fell below the level of 1928 at the end of May 1930. Wages remained at a stable level until they began to decline in 1931. Circumstances were worst in agricultural areas, where prices of commodities fell, and in the mining and forest industry, where unemployment was high and there were get job opportunities. The downturn in the US industry began the downturn in most other countries; however, internal weaknesses or strengths in the various countries determined how severely affected they were by the crisis.

Identify new cultural movements of the 1920s and analyze how these movements reflected and changed society.
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

During the 1920s there was a lot of new and exciting things happening. There was more freedom for youth and females with the flappers and youth culture. Females worked, wore makeup, danced in jazz clubs, lived on their own, smoked, and dressed more provocatively. Youth played sports, participated in extracurricular activities, joined sororities and frats, went to dances and parties, and experimented with dating and sexuality. There was many advances in technology, innovations, and inventions for example, radio, sports, movies with sound, automobiles, electricity, vacuum cleaners, irons, washing machines, refrigerators, indoor plumbing, and assembly lines. Radio, sports, and movies with sound gave people new sources of entertainment. Appliances like vacuum cleaners, irons, washing machines, and refrigerators helped housewives. Electricity and assembly lines helped factories to make more products in less time.  There was an increase in productivity, consumerism, life expectancy, income, city population, and funding. After the war, foreign governments owed the U.S. billions of dollars. There was more funding for hospitals, medical research, libraries, and schools. The average income rose by 11%, people had more money to buy consumer goods and to move from country to city. It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows though. Many people had negative reactions to these changes, especially people in small. rural towns, white protestants, and christian fundamentalists. There was a rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan, who discriminated against catholics, jews, immigrants, and POC. There was an alcohol prohibition, which lead to an intended 30% drop in alcohol consumption but, an unintended increase in organized crime rates.

One major area of the progress during Renaissance is geographical discovery. Discuss.(Please write long and)
Contact [7]

The Renaissance, which means "rebirth" in French, typically refers to a period in European history from  A.D. 1400 to A.D. 1600. Many historians, however, assert that it started earlier or ended later, depending on the country. It bridged the periods of the Middle Ages and modern history, and, depending on the country, overlaps with the Early Modern, Elizabethan and Restoration periods. The Renaissance is most closely associated with Italy, where it began in the 14th century, though countries such as Germany, England and France went through many of the same cultural changes and phenomena.

However, while the Renaissance brought about some positive changes for Europe, the geographical exploration that flourished during this time led to devastation for the people of the Western Hemisphere as European conquest and colonization brought plagues and slavery to the Indigenous people living there. In Africa, it also brought about the birth of the trans-Atlantic slave trade that saw Black people shipped from Africa to the Western Hemisphere to work as slaves on European colonies.

"Renaissance" comes from the French word for "rebirth." According to the City University of New York at Brooklyn, intense interest in and learning about classical antiquity was "reborn" after the Middle Ages, in which classical philosophy was largely ignored or forgotten. Renaissance thinkers considered the Middle Ages to have been a period of cultural decline. They sought to revitalize their culture through re-emphasizing classical texts and philosophies. They expanded and interpreted them, creating their own style of art, philosophy and scientific inquiry. Some major developments of the Renaissance include astronomy, humanist philosophy, the printing press, vernacular language in writing, painting and sculpture technique, world exploration and, in the late Renaissance, Shakespeare's works.
