Calvin Coolidge (1872 – 1933) was the 30th president of the United States. He pertained to the Republican Party and he was in office between 1923 to 1929.

He supported and implemented <em>laisez-faire</em> economic measures, that consisted on free functioning of the markets with minimum goverment interventionism. Markets alone, would produce the most efficent outcomes, according to his viewpoint. Therefore, the policies introduced by Coolidge's government, involved minimum regulation for businesses, and for the economic activity in general.
