In some cases, people who test positive for genetic testing can receive preventive treatments. For example, people who test posi

tive for the breast cancer genes BRCA1 and BRCA2 can have a preventive mastectomy (breast removal surgery) before they develop the disease. In other cases, no preventive treatments are available, but frequent monitoring can help detect a disease earlier, when it’s more easily treated.
What ethical or professional concerns does a health-care professional need to address when he or she has a patient who wants to prematurely treat a genetic disease? Do you think genetic testing should be part of normal preventive healthcare? Why or why not?

Answer:

Part 1.

There are many ethical or professional concerns related to genetic treatments.

Usually, a prematurely genetic treatment involves the genetic testing first. A health care professional should address these concerns:

 • The risk related to the subjects life.
 • The stress and anxiety during treatment.
 • The financial information/ cost of the procedure.
 • Advantages of procedure
 • All potential disadvantages.
 • The probability of success and failure of the treatment procedure.

Part 2.

Answer:

Yes, I think genetic testing is the vital and important part of preventive health care.

Genetic disorders are incurable so there should be genetic testing necessary for all who have some genetic anomalies in families.

Part 3.

Answer:

There are many genetic disorders which are running in genes from the start of mankind. It is very difficult and painful to cope with them. That is why genetic testing should be a necessary procedure in preventive health care.

Some genetic disease can be cured or prevented by earlier detection by genetic testing before the genetic anomaly is converted into fatal disorder. As the case mentioned in the question statement. Breast cancer can be cured by earlier detection of genetic defects.

Both normal and transient flora can become opportunistic pathogens. True or False
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Normal flora are microorganisms that are regarded as resident organisms, which can be found on or in an individual and do not cause any disease.

the transient flora refers to microorganisms that are found on the skin or the hands which are there through direct contact with person or object, and are easily removed by routine hand hygiene. Example is Norovirus that can cause stomach flu.

Opportunistic pathogens are microorganisms such as the bacteria and virus, which can only cause infection when the immune system is down. This means that , these organisms can not cause any infection as long as the immune system is ok.

In this case, the normal and transient flora like Norovirus can only cause infection when the immune system is down. That is why they are regarded as opportunistic pathogens.

How is most of the oxygen on Earth produced?
PIT_PIT [208]
Most of this oxygen comes from tiny ocean plants – called phytoplankton – that live near the water's surface and drift with the currents. Like all plants, they photosynthesize – that is, they use sunlight and carbon dioxide to make food. A byproduct of photosynthesis is oxygen.
