Explain why/how these reasons resulted in more deaths in WWI than in the Napoleonic Wars
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

2 main reasons: Better Weapons and types of warfare

Explanation:

So one of the biggest reasons for the larger loss of life in WWI was the newer weapons, aka the muskets verses machine guns. Machine guns are clearly faster and more effective weapons and continous rapid fire whereas the muskets were single fire and required the user to reload and be exposed. There were the use of tanks and submarine warfare as well, which were new and had not been seen in war before.

Secondly, there was the use of trench warfare which seemed like it was helpful since it was supposed to shield soliders from war but ended up being a cesspool for bacteria and manifested in diseases.

What describes the Zapotec city of Monte Albán?
Savatey [412]

Answer:

Monte Albán was the capital of Zapotec culture. It is located in the state of Oaxaca in Mexico.  At its peak, between 500 AD and 750 AD, it was a city of an estimated 30,000 inhabitants.

The city was probably formed by three chieftains, who each had their own settlement in that area. Monte Albán is right in the middle of those three places and was clearly aimed at bringing the three chieftains under one political system of government.

The city grew around the central squares and administrative centers. The large central square was the center for the city. That square also grew, as did the buildings around it. The result was that the square was converted more and more densely, and that it was also more and more isolated from the rest of the city.
