What does Emerson say about great people

English

He says,
"Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh." To that he adds "To be great is to be misunderstood."
In context, Emerson also says that great men are not always consistent. In fact, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines". Thus, if one is not always consistent, one may be misunderstood. But, since many great men have not be understood by society, then you are you have great company when people don't understand you. What is important, according to Emerson, is that one not violate his or her own nature. You must be true to yourself, even if it mean saying one thing one day and saying something else the next day. That way we show that we trust ourselves and not others to dictate our beliefs.

Emerson said that "To be great is to be misunderstood." He also said that a great person constantly changes. He cited examples of great men like Pythagoras, Socrates, Jesus Christ, Luther, Copernicus, Galileo, and Newton. A great individual must also not violate one's nature even though that person may not be understood by the society.

Why were students better able than adults to organize and protest
BaLLatris [955]
The students who marched at Selma were better prepared in a sense that unlike their adult counterparts, they were already briefed on what to expect when this march began. Youth was also their biggest asset as they were energized and determined to promote the civil rights movement in the South. Even before the march, they were already veterans of other movements for equal rights.

The author asserts that machines require proper maintenance. They demand proper service and fueling, and on time. If proper caring is not done to them, they begin to throw tantrums by blowing up, bursting out, stopping to work, etc. Humans, according to author, even use their remaining time making more machines, which pose a threat that machines may become humans master.
