Owls and hawks coexist because they come from the same natural habitat, living in unison for a long time. They belong to the same family of prey as being referred in group as raptors. They treat each other as family and never a threat to anyone's niche, being faunivores and they prey both on rodents. They almost look identical that some people cannot distinguish them.

I would say the most logical one to put in a fictional narrative would be the second one about the sun mocking the moon. personification is seen usually in fictional works, so it would make more sense :) hope this helps!
