Answer:

2. Curiosity can lead people into danger.

Explanation:

Homer's epic "The Odyssey" covers the whole journey of the protagonist Odysseus' journey back to Ithaca. Encountering numerous obstacles of both gods and mortals, he details how he endured hardships to get back to his family and kingdom.

The given passage is from Book IX when he and his men had came upon the "<em>land of the lawless and inhuman Cyclopes..... [with] no laws nor assemblies of the people, but live in caves on the tops of high mountains; each is lord and master in his family, and they take no account of their neighbors.</em>" His men pleaded with him to raid the cyclops' cave for food and other necessities and leave while he's not inside. But Odysseus decided to meet the creature in person so he waited for the Cyclops to arrive. As the story progressed, this encounter did not go well which will lead to the death of most of his men. This shows just how curiosity can be a dangerous thing.

because as we all know, the caveman ended up being a cyclops, his men were begging to get away from a potentially bad situation, yet Odysseus was more interested in seeing the caveman he knows the advice to get on the ship and leave is great advice yet his curiosity has gotten the best of him.
