Answer:

The correct response is marathon runners.

Explanation:

Michael Lemonick is a science writer for the magazine Scientific American and he has argued that our ancestors who were hunter-gatherers could be compared to marathon runners. Drawing on the work of evolutionary anthropologists, Lemonick has argued that gathering and seeking out food took a lot of physical work and travel over great distances. This means that our ancestors were very efficient at using the calories they consumed in order to hunt wild animals and carry them back long distances to then also process the catch which took more work still. Gathering fruits and nuts were also hard work in this perspective.  We thus had good cardiovascular fitness and less obesity and other problems that come with the sedentary lifestyle we have today.

Persephone experiences the first stage of the general adaptation syndrome. what term best characterizes this experience?
AnnZ [28]

The answer is <u>"alarm".</u>

The alarm stage is otherwise called the fight or flight response. Amid the alarm stage, your mind sends a crisis flag to different parts of your body, which tells those parts that you're in an unsafe circumstance. As your body assembles itself to respond, you can pick between a fight or flight reaction.

When you're in the alarm stage, your nervous system is set up to fight or flight. Your heart begins beating quicker, which gives more blood and oxygen to your arms and legs.
