In Act 4 lines 576-580 Elizabeth conveys an image of Giles Corey as a fearsome, brave, strong and principled. She makes it clear that he has died for what believed it was right, being brave to the very end, not succumbing to pain, for while he was crushed to death he just yelled for "more weight". Giles Corey refuses to accept the court and what it stands for, so he chooses to die refusing corruption than living accepting it.
