1. who is the main character of this story? GECKO is the main character of the story.

2. why Gecko would like to see the head? He wanted to see the head because he wanted to lodge a complaint against Firefly.

3. why Gecko doesn't get to sleep for a few weeks? He wasn't able to sleep for a few weeks because Firefly kept on flying out and around him with Firefly's light flashing.

4. once Gecko filed a complaint, the first to investigate? The Chief called firefly to ask why he kept on flashing his lights which caused Gecko's sleeplessness.

5. What is the reason the fireflies flashing lights? He thought he was passing on a message that the Woodpecker was sending to the villagers to get up and gather.

6. next to investigate Who and what he is saying? Woodpecker was questioned next and his reason for pecking the wood was that he was sending out a warning when he heard the kwak-kwak of the frog because he believed it was a warning for a coming earthquake.

7. how many characters under investigation after all? The chief questioned 6 characters. They are firefly, woodpecker, frog, beetle, water buffalo, and rain.

8. who was the last to investigate and what does it say? The last to be questioned was rain and he said that he only sent rain because the gods were asked to send rain. Without rain, there would be no mosquitoes and gecko would be hungry.

9. what Gecko found a solution to the problem? What should he do? I think they should all talk about what they thought. Each character had good intentions but they all assumed things and their assumptions were wrong. They need to clarify things to avoid miscommunication and doing something that negatively impacts another.

10. What did you learn from this story? Open communication is vital to avoid problems.

Hardin’s ""tragedy of the commons"" essay addressed the conflicts associated with which environmental challenge?.
Masteriza [31]

In the Tragedy of the Commons, the issue of overcrowding was discussed, and Hardin used the example of sheep grazing land to illustrate its negative impacts.

When people have access to a shared resource and act in their own interests at the expense of other people, it creates a problem in economics and environmental science known as the Tragedy of the Commons. This may lead to excessive consumption, underinvestment, and resource depletion.

People's propensity to use shared resources to create a situation where demand far outweighs supply, the resource becomes unavailable to the group as a whole, and there may be a problem with scarcity and opportunity cost.
