The main characteristic of a universal theme is that the idea can apply to any person regardless of his location or culture.

Since the universal themes are generally connected to a matter of the human nature or to the basic human concerns, a wide range of readers can relate to these themes and undestand them.

Some common examples of universal themes include falling in love, adolescence and discovering the world.

Is the underlined word a predicate nominative or a predicate adjective? Langston Hughes was one of the greatest poets of the Har
Bond [772]

A predicate nominative because "one" follows the verb "to be- was (past tense). A predicative nominative alwasys follows the verb to be in al of its forms and one should view it as "equals", as in, Langston Hughes equals on of the greatest poets of the Harlem Renaissance. A predicative adjective must modify the subject and is linked with a verb, but in this sentence "one" does not modify Hughes. Another trick for remembering is that if you were to switch the order of the sentence, it would still make sense; "One of the greatest poets of the Harlem Renaissance is Langston Hughes."

What did Acrisius do to try to keep the prophecy of his death from being fulfilled? He set his daughter and her child adrift at
Yanka [14]

The correct answer is A) He set his daughter and her child adrift at sea in a sealed chest.

What Acrisius did to try to keep the prophecy of his death from being fulfilled was that he set his daughter and her child adrift at sea in a sealed chest.

We are referring to Greek mythology. After consulting the Oracle of Delphi, Acricus was told that one day he will be killed by the son of his daughter Danae. That is why he decided to imprison his daughter in a chamber, but God Zeus impregnates her. The baby was named Perseus. Angered by the situation, Acrius decided to put Danae and the baby in a chest and he threw into the sea. Zeus and Poseidon intervene and save the mother and the child.
