Richard Nixon _____. was the first president to resign from office was involved in the Watergate cover-up imposed wage and price
REY [17]

Answer:

The answer is Richard Nixon

Explanation:

Richard Nixon was the 37th President of the United States. He was a staunch Republican and was quite popular in his first tenure.

He was successful in ending the involvement of the United States in Vietnam War and helped to bring back the POWs. He reengaged with China and kick started diplomatic ties. He also enforced desegregation which paved the way for more opportunities for minorities.

He was sworn in the second time with a landslide victory but quickly lost his popularity as the Watergate scandal where it was revealed that the US was involved in selling arms to Iran and using the money to fund Contras in South America.

Eventually, he became the first and only US president in history to resign from office.
