After that event Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev reached a agreement with Cuba to move Soviet nuclear missiles into Cuba which is 90 miles of the coast of Florida.This was the closet the war has been to full out nuclear war and was a notable event in the cold war, it ended with the U.S and Soviets making a agreement that Russia would take the nukes out of Cuba if the U.S agreed not to invade Cuba.
