Which of the following can be used to prove that triangle EFG is also a right triangle?

D. Prove that KL is equal to c by the Pythagorean Theorem

Since we know that both triangles have a and b in common, the same side lengths, then KL must be equal to c as well. Using the Pythagorean Theorem, this can be proved. And because the Pythagorean Theorem can only be used on a right triangle, then triangle EFG must also be a right triangle if KL if also equal to c.

Hope this helps!! :)

Increase 15837.77 by 8.5% give your answer rounded to 2 D.P
artcher [175]

Given:

Increase 15837.77 by 8.5%.

To find:

The answer rounded to two decimal places.

Solution:

We have,

Initial value = 15837.77

Increasing percent = 8.5%

Now, the value after increasing by 8.5 % is

\text{Required value}=15837.77+\dfrac{8.5}{100}(15837.77)

\text{Required value}=15837.77+1346.21045

\text{Required value}=17183.98045

Round the value to two decimal places.

\text{Required value}\approx 17183.98

Therefore, the required value is 17183.98.

The size of a crowd standing along with a 1/4 mile section of a parade route: 5280 people

<h3>Further explanation </h3>

Comparison is an effort to compare two or more objects in terms of shape or size, or number

Proportional Comparisons are comparisons of two or more numbers where one number increases, the other numbers also increase

Can be formulated

\frac{x1}{y1}=\frac{x2}{y2}

so that if:

x = 2

then

y=\frac{y}{x}\times\:2

While the reversal value comparison is the comparison of two or more numbers where one number increases, the other number decreases in value

Can be formulated

\frac{x1}{y2}=\frac{x2}{y1}

so that if:

x = 2

then

y=\frac{x}{y}\times\:2

The size of a crowd who can see the parade can be calculated using the principle of proportional comparison

  • 1. We calculate the ratio of people and areas that can be occupied

The question stated that 10 people occupy a square measuring 5 feet by 5 feet

means the area occupied by 10 people = 5 ft x 5 ft = 25 ft²

so the ratio is :

\frac{10}{25}

  • 2. We calculate the area of the road that can be occupied when viewing the parade

Because there are 1/4 mile section of a parade route and 5 feet deep on both sides of the street, the total area

1 mile = 5280 ft

1/4 mile = 1320 ft

Total area = 1320 ft x 5 ft (deep) x 2 (both sides of the street) = 13200 ft²

Then the comparison of points 1 and 2 can be used to calculate the total number of people who saw the parade

\frac{10\:people}{25\:ft^2\:area}=\frac{total\:people\:watched}{13200\:ft^2\:total\:area}

Total people =

\frac{10\:\times\:13200}{25}

Total people = 5280 (C)
