Well you would be in a new place so maybe a bit scared about what the new land will consist of. But also a bit excited because you would be making history.
Everyone must stay together during this brutal time. Nothing like this has ever happened to our country. If successful, it will be the first step into a revolution that will change America as we know it. If we fail, all of us will become slaves of our demise.

Americans did invade part of the Japanese home islands such as Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The battles were atrociously brutal and horrendous and 94 % of Japanese forces were killed and Americans suffered enormous casualties. Because the resistance had been so fierce and ruthless, and because the Japanese military had declared that 20 million conscripts were ready to take arms to defend the Empire. Many American military officers wanted to just use the nuclear bombs and be done with it.
