Ruth Shilsky Jordan McBrides was his mother. She was born in Poland and grew up in Virginia. But, after graduating high school she moved to New York. She lived briefly in Wilmington, Delaware and then the Germantown section of Philadelphia before moving to Ewing in 1990. She died in New Jersey.
