What effect did the revolutionary war have on native americans?

History

The American Revolution didn't affect directly the Native Americans. It affected them because when the colonists won, it was official they had lost vast territories and would have to share land extensions with colonists. The Proclamation of 1763 wasn't so forceful after the war, because the colonists were independent from the King and he couldn't give them orders anymore. The Proclamation of 1763 kept colonists east of the Appalachian Mountains, just so you remember. France owed a large piece of land that was west of the Appalachian, and the colonists eventually bought it. Further on, they also took hold of the area around California and Florida. So as you see, the Natives were being taken away from lands and this led them to live in reservations. Nowadays, natives can live anywhere they want but many choose to live in reservations.

The American revolutionary war affected Native Americans in many ways.

Some of the Native Americans supported the British during the American Revolution and most Americans dislike them because they sided with Britain

Further Explanation

Although most of the Native Americans tried to remain neutral during the war, they later resolved to join the British after they were attacked by American fighters.

Some of the Native American tribes that supported the British include Iroquois, Shawnee, Cherokee and Creek and those that supported the Americans include Potawatomi and Delaware.

The American Revolution negatively affected the Native Americans, they were not included in the peace talk and they lost most of their lands during the war.

Even after the war ended, some American fought against them because of the support they gave to the British during the War

The outcome of the war was not favorable to Native Americans tribes - they lost their power, culture, and influence.

The American Revolution was an independent war that took place between 1765 and 1783. It was a colonial revolt which involves the thirteen American colonies and Britain.

The thirteen American colonies defeated the British and went on to create the United States of America. Also, France assisted America during the revolutionary war
