The thing that President Wilson's Fourteen Points proposed about communication between nations was open discussion and no secret treaties between nations. This was proposed by Wilson to avoid any further war between nations as was the case of World War I. It can be called Open Diplomacy as well.

Well i would imagine that then the south would have had been able to keep its trade up with the Europe's which then they would have been able to fund their side more and have the proper resources to fight the war and may have won the fight.
