Answer:

678  units

Explanation:

The total manufacturing cost is made of 2 categories of cost. These are the direct cost and the indirect/overhead costs. The direct cost includes direct material cost, direct labor etc. The overheads may be categorized into fixed and variable elements.

Given that  Direct labor hours 13,900 Direct labor cost $ 2.70 per hour and Variable overhead cost 50 % of total labor cost

Variable over head = 50% × (13,900 × $2.70)

= $18,765

Let the number of units be y

(13,900 × $2.70) + 75y + $74,000 + $18,765  = $181,145

75y = $181,145 - $74,000 - $18,765 - $37,530

75y = $50,850

y = $50,850 /75

y = 678

Answer: 678 units

Explanation:

To answer this we shall subtract the various cost components from the main figure.

The total cost is $181,145.

The total labor cost would be,

= Labor hours x rate

= 13,900 x 2.70 per hour

= $37,530

The variable cost is 50% of total labor so that would be,

= $37,350 x 0.5

= $18,765

The fixed overhead cost is given at $74,000

Subtracting these would be

= 181,145 - 37,530 - 18,765 - 74,000

= $50,850

This figure is the Direct materials cost. The last cost.

Now it says that Direct materials cost $75 per unit so we can get the no. of units by division.

= 50850/ 75

= 678 units.

The total number of units was 678.

Which of the following is not a qualitative factor to be considered in a make-or-buy decision?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

A) Possible lost jobs from buying outside

Explanation:

In a make-or-buy decision,   technical aspects directly related to manufacturing are those that come into play: costs, schedules, quality, among others. A classic example is Apple. Because of the advantages in costs, quality, schedules and other aspects, Apple chooses to manufacture its products in China instead of manufacturing themselves or with a third party in the US, despite the loss of jobs that it generates.

Evaluate Motor Status

Explanation:

In the first 24 hours the response of his body will be checked and that is called motor status.

This is through nervous system response to the connected medical devices.

As there is brain attack and our brain is solely responsible for any action in the body, it will be important to know whether it is working and responding properly or not.

This will ensure that the brain is not critically damaged.

Identify the correct order of the four steps used to prepare a production cost summary (report). 1)Summarize the cost flow of ph
Veronika [31]

Answer:

The answer is "Option C".

Explanation:

The Costs of production relate to the price of a company producing or producing a service, which can include the range of expenditures, like labor, manufactured goods, supplies of items, and expenses. It has mainly four steps that can be defined as follows:

  • Complete the physical unit flow.
  • Measure the production unit's equivalent.
  • Compare the value per unit for output equivalent.
  • Assign costs to finished units and manufactured units.

Which of the following statements is most accurate? Multiple Choice In process costing, estimating the degree of completion of u
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

C. The FIFO method computes equivalent units based only on production activity in the current period, ignoring the percentage of completion in beginning Work in Process inventory.

Explanation:

THIS IS THE COMPLETE QUESTION BELOW

Which of the following statements is most accurate?

A. In process costing, estimating the degree of completion of units is usually more accurate for conversion costs than for direct materials.

B. The FIFO method includes the cost of the beginning Work in Process inventory account in calculating cost per equivalent units.

C. The FIFO method computes equivalent units based only on production activity in the current period, ignoring the percentage of completion in beginning Work in Process inventory.

D. The FIFO method of calculating equivalent units of production merges the work and the costs of the beginning inventory with the work and the costs done during the current period.

E. It is not possible for there to be a significant difference between the cost of completed units between the weighted average and the FIFO methods.

EXPLANATION

FIFO method which is known as

(First In, First Out) can be regarded as an asset-management as well as valuation method , this method follows a process whereby any assets that is first produced or acquired are the asset that are sold first or first disposed. For the purposes of tax, FIFO gives assumption that assets that has oldest costs are usually entered into cost of goods sold I.e (COGS) income statements. Fifo can be calculated by finding the cost of oldest inventory, then multiply it by the amount of inventory sold.

It should be noted that The FIFO method computes equivalent units based only on production activity in the current period, ignoring the percentage of completion in beginning Work in Process inventory
