Texas was the one the state that left the Union, the state was the last state among the first seven state to sucede. Texas declared its secession from the Union on February 1, 1861, and joined the Confederate States on March 2, 1861, after it replaced its governor, Sam Houston, when he refused to take an oath of allegiance to the Confederacy states and for his Allegiance to the UNION.

In February 1861 a convention of the people of Texas met in Austin and voted to secede from the Union, this was oppose by the Governor but he was immediately replace. Slave owners were the majority At the convention, so the major reason what that the President Abraham Lincoln will disrupt slave Trade. Also many held the belief that Texas being a southern states should also join the Confederacy which was made up southern states. They established a committee which make sure that federal troops were remove from Texas and they send a delegate to the other Confederacy states.
